Play is the basis of all inventions and ideas. As a society we need to facilitate imaginations and give kids the time to play in depth. Todays consumerism culture would have us believe that there are toys we must have and yet kids are just as absorbed with the simplest of things. Also they love us to get involved (as long as we let them lead). My daughter is 10 and her baby doll play is her most favourite time, yet when certain friends come to play she hides her love of baby dolls for fear of ridicule. I look forward to the day when we continue to play and pretend through our whole lives, leading by example, how better to do it.
